Sorin leads R&D in optical system design, including fiber transmission research, new technology feasibility studies and engineering rules for network deployments. He is also an adjunct professor in the electrical and computer science department at Georgia Tech and serves as an associate editor of the IEEE/Optica Journal of Lightwave Technology.
